From what I'm reading, on all USA carriers, voice is handled over 3G/2G. If your skype or VOIP is connected via LTE, and an incoming phone call comes in, the phone switches to 3G. For verizon and sprint, the phone can't do simultaneous voice and data, so the skype connection will drop. For at&t, it still has to switch over to 3G.
Seems like this would be a major problem for VOIP apps, instant messaging apps, and any apps that need backgrounding data?
