Hello and good day to you!
I've recently bought an iPhone 5, 64GB AT&T, full price. A bunch of Apple guys told me, there's 100% probability it'll work with any sim card overseas, but it doesn't. I'm in Russia and when I insert a Russian sim-card it reboots and asks to activate it though it already is. When activating it says inserted sim is not valid for activation, please insert proper sim. When you remove it (sim-card), voila phone's activated again immediately. For the first time I'm very disappointed with my Apple purchase. What options do we have here and what can be done to fix this problem?
P.S. I won't be in US for the next 2 month, and we don't have official stores in Russia so visiting an Apple Store is not an option.
P.S.S. I've tried to restore it via iTunes but but it didn't help.
