Can anyone help with this? Phone was fine initially but last 2 weeks or so these dots have appeared out of nowhere. No water damage, no scratches, just random dots that can be wiped off with the cloth but they reappear few minutes later?

almost looks like checkered boxes/dots.

edit: its kinda hard to see in this pic, sorry

Can't see anything in the picture.

Sounds like there's a screen protector on the phone?

yea been doing that.. everytime i wipe it off it almost disappears and then few minutes later it reappears. frustrating!

I think it's from the texture of your jeans.
When you sweat a little bit. I have sometimes the same with my iPhone.

You're not supposed to use alcohol based products on the screen of an iPhone. What you are seeing is an effect of using these products. It removes the oleophobic coating that comes on the screen (to make grease/fingerprints easy to wipe) and damages the screen itself.

I used glasses cleaning wipes twice on my phone, both times produced this. Luckily I stopped and the markings have never reappeared. I've seen it with others I personally know, as well as others here on this forum.

The same happens when you use alcohol based products on the screens of MBPs and MBAs.

this phone is merely 2 months old, i clean it using regular cleaning cloth and thats about it.. had iphone 5 before this since it came out and also other iphones but this has never happened. i highly doubt it has anything to do with how the phone was cleaned.
