Every time i place a phone call, my iphone 5 drops from LTE to 4G. Regardless of which area im located at. LTE returns a few minutes after i end the call. Is anyone else having this issue? I did a complete restore and the problem still exists.

No lte data and voice at the same time, att will switch to 4g for voice+data.

This is normal because currently no US cellular company supports voice over LTE and the iPhone lacks the ability to have an LTE and a non-LTE signal at the same time.

It's normal for the iPhone to drop from LTE to 4G (hspa+). Be fortunate that you still get 4G speeds while on a call because on Verizon and sprint you will not get any data while on a call.

Ok great, i did not know this. Is it normal for it to take up to 1-2 minutes to go back to LTE?

I just tested this and mine switches back to LTE in slightly under 30 seconds every time and I tried 5 times.

The real kicker is att secretly throttles data while on a call. The nest data speed u will get is around 500 mpbs to 800 Kbps. You will not even get 1-2mpbs data on a voice call.

Att is sneaky. Try a speed test while on a data call

Anybody with an iPhone 4 try it, you'll get much faster speeds while on a phone call then with a 4S or a 5.

im having an issue where my att i5 drops LTE when i make a call but doesnt switch to anything else..thus im left with no cellular data while making a call...stopped by the att store and they said there is something wrong with the phone and made an appointment for me with apple to get a replacement...this sucks as my black i5 was flawless other wise..
