Technically this would work as Boost is owned by Sprint and uses Sprint's network.
But Boost and Sprint are two different entities. Sprint iPhones are locked to Sprint's network. The SIM is paired with the device. Take out the SIM and the device does not function.
Sprint won't unlock your iPhone for domestic use, even to go to a carrier it owns.
Just goes to show how crazy the phone situation is with carriers - weird restrictions on what phone you can use and the restrictions are not based on hardware being incompatible, but on their own picky rules.
It would be so much simpler if carriers just accepted any phone that worked with their network, regardless of where you bought the phone.
