Iphone 5: Go to Verizon or Apple store?

We will be upgrading to our first smartphones with the Iphone 5s. We're eligible for upgrade discounts for our current Verizon phones because we've had them for 3 years. I'd like to get them directly at the Apple store, but will Apple be aware and able to get the upgrade discounts for us?

You can go straight to the Apple Store. They will have a lot more stock than the Verizon store, and they handle upgrades all the time.
 
But if you have credit, like the New Every Two upgrade credit, I think you might have to go to Verizon for that.

This is what I'm wondering as well.

I have a new every two upgrade that i want to use towards the new iPhone. I would like to preorder the phone so i know ill have it close to launch but I dont know where to go. Verizon or Apple store due to the discounts i have through Verizon.

According to the link posted above Apple says that the iPhone 4 16gb is $200 and 32gb is $300.

I think that's about right even with the new every two. Hopefully the iPhone 5 will be similar in price.

Yeah, I think I remember talking to a Verizon CSR and they said that the NE2 credit can only be used through Verizon so......yeah.
 
Call an Apple store and ask. They may only be able to deal with new contract purchases but I would think they would be able to deal with upgrades by now.
 
I think it would be all about preference..I got my iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 from Best Buy. I had $100 gift cards and RewardZone, so I figured why not? This time I have $350 in Gift Cards and $100 in Rewardzone coupons :D Don't know what I am going to buy..so much stuff coming out in the next few months gaming wise. (Battlefield 3, Arkham City, Modern Warfare 3, Uncharted 3.) Thank god for gift cards!

I know your pain. I want to buy Modern Warfare 3, Skyrim, and Assassin's Creed Revelations but they all come out with the same 8 day period and that is not counting all the other games coming out within the 2 weeks before or after. I was going to use a $150 Amazon gift card I won at work in August but I found a bunch of other good junk I wanted now.
 
I qualify for a $100 upgrade bonus from Verizon that doesn't appear on Apple's qualification page, so I guess I have to go to VZ after all. 5 years with the same phone gets you extra benefits.
