As has been referred to before, most likely, your battery needs recalibrating - run battery down until the phone switches off automatically and then charge to 100% without interruptions.

I've had similar battery problems since upgrading to ios 7.0.2. Tried recalibrating battery as suggested several times still the same. I'm out of warranty but am going to try a genius appointment next week see if they can offer anything else?

The battery in my iPhone 5 was the worst performer I have ever had in an iDevice (and it was on 6.1.2)

That said, the batteries in our iPhone 5S's, are the best we have ever had.
