The image on the left has a lot more sun in it Nothing is going to compare to a digital camera Who takes pictures of the sun anyway? There's no problems with the iPhone 5. It's perfect in every way.

Nothing to do with the colour of sapphire, it's the sensor and possibly the image processing to some degree. Also the lens is artificial sapphire, not the kind in your ring.
