iPhone 5 Model #

Just had a 64GB A1428 replaced.
Under Settings General About
The Old one was Model MD644LL
the New one is ND642LL
Everything Carrier,Size and Color seem to be the same.
Anybody know why the difference?

I had the same question...I really thought the model numbers remained the same.

Just noticed on my router the mac numbers changed too.

Yes I know different device, different macs, but the prefix changed from

20:C9 to
68:96

all the more reason to do a retail swap, and to stay within the return policy.

I think this just goes for the replacement models, so apple knows if your phone has been replaced before. I doubt there are any changes!

Mine changed to ND122LL. So it's for "Replacement" models. Although, after three days, I wouldn't consider my new unblemished iPhone 5 a "replacement."
