Purchased new in Sept. I noticed that lately I have been having to push the lightning connector in harder to get it to charge. Sometimes, if I didn't check it, it would not charge.

Solution: When I looked in the port, I could see a compacted amount of white lint. I used a dental wooden stim u dent, and cleaned it out. Works normally now.

I was going to start a post on this til I found this one. I was having the same charging issue with my 6-month old iPhone 5. I used a can of keyboard air cleaner on the phone and it didn't helped. Checked all the other lightning cables in the house, same issue. So I went up to an Apple store today to have it checked out. The first guy used a flashlight, didn't see anything and had the same issue with his cables. A genius bar employee took it to the back and came out with a tiny screwdriver and a good size chunk of lint. I would never have guessed that was the problem.
