I was stupid and impatient. I had pre-ordered an iphone 5 last Friday 9/14 but it would not be delivered until 9/26, so today at 12:30 I dropped by a verizon store and they had many in stock!!!
I promptly cancelled my preorder and ordered the 16gb white. I have unlimited data on a family plan with no upgrades so I added a line. I told them what I wanted to do, the store said okay, but they said they had to activate the phone on the new line first. After doing that, they then said that I have to call customer service to get another sim card to switch to my number that they did not have any.
I was in a hurry to get back to work and said ok. Of course on the way to work I call and cs says they will send me one out Monday (but they wanted to know why the store wouldn't give me one). Well now I get a shipping notice that it will be Tuesday

Anyway I'm afraid to use my iphone now. It is on a new line with a 2gb plan, but if I try to download apps or get on Safari, will it lock me into that plan? I want to switch it to a dumb phone line. I don't want to mess up the plan.
