Carrier iPhone 5 on Straight Talk

so, my parents have been with AT&T forever but are done with their high bill. They claim that they can use Straight Talk without having their iPhones unlocked.

Anyone know if this is true?

They can as long as they choose the AT&T straight talk sim. To use the T-Mobile and others they would have to be unlocked.

Well you can simply get the iPhone unlocked assuming your contract or phone is paid off so it shouldn't be an issue anyways
