As the title says, I'm looking at getting either the iPhone 5 or the iPod touch. I already have a Galaxy Note, but my iPod touch (4th gen 32GB) is dying. The reason that I'm considering getting the iPhone 5 is because I don't have a fixed landline internet connection at my house (which means no wifi), and I would like to have as much access to the internet, app store and iTunes as much as possible. I am in Australia, where the iPhone 5 is free on most 24 month contracts. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Depending on your carrier, why not just activate a mobile hotspot through your phone? That way, you can keep your phone and use the latest iPod Touch.

I've been doing that with my current iPod but I can't do it very often as it uses a lot of downloads. I might be getting a cable broadband connection soon though, however, I fear that the internals in the iPod touch 5 may not be powerful enough to power the increased amount of pixels in the retina display.
