iPhone 5 otterbox defender watermark

There is a watermark or rainbow effect beneath the screen protector of my defender case. Now I know this is common and it doesn't bother me in a visual sense.

My question is does the term "watermark" imply there is moisture under the screen protector or is it just a figure of speech? Will it harm my phone at all?

I don't think you understand what watermark means. I think it's just the way light is refracting through the plastic.

Pop out the stock screen protector and install an iSmooth protector...perfect

Ok it sounds like its in no way harmful to the phone. So I won't worry about it thanks.

I had this issue once with I think my 3G and the otterbox. It doesn't harm anything but was annoying, and I found a work around. Buy the non-glare (antiglare) screen protectors and put it on the iPhone itself and then put the Otterbox on. Not more water marks.
