The iphone 5 my wife has often turns to 4G in my house, although my HTC and other wifi devices works well. Is there a known issue or just it is what it is?

Thanks.

I had this issue with my iPad before. Try to restore it and if the problem still persists, take it to apple store.

I see. Have never been to Apple store for repair before. How easy to get it replaced/repaired? Do I have to prove it has some issues?

Yea, they will test it first. Try to restore first, mine was fixed after i restored it. And test it with distance above 10 m.
