In Canada, the Apple factory unlocked iPhone 5 is $50 more than last years release, $699 vs $649.

Did they raise prices in your country too, if so where and how much?

+50€.. from 629€ to 679€. I guess Apple needs more money in order to fight against Samsung.

;)

Then most will need to add the $35 connector adaptor, so its $85 more here!

In the UK it is £529 now vs £499 last year!

The 4S only dropped in price £50 as well.

32gb and 64gb iPhone 5's are the same price as last year though.

They raised the price of the 16gb in the UK by £30, but kept the 32 and 64 the same.

The 16gb is by far the most popular, so this is blatantly a money-grabbing decision. Not impressed, Apple.

Can I ask, where are you getting the prices for the 32gb & 64gb models?

Before the launch of iPhone 5:

iPhone 4S 16GB HKD $5,088 (unsubsidised price, no SIM lock)
iPhone 4S 32GB HKD $5,888 (unsubsidised price, no SIM lock)
iPhone 4S 64GB HKD $6,688 (unsubsidised price, no SIM lock)

After the launch of iPhone 5:

iPhone 4S 16GB HKD $4,688 (unsubsidised price, no SIM lock)

iPhone 5 16GB HKD $5,588 (unsubsidised price, no SIM lock)
iPhone 5 32GB HKD $6,388 (unsubsidised price, no SIM lock)
iPhone 5 64GB HKD $7,188 (unsubsidised price, no SIM lock)

==========

I thought Apple would just slide the iPhone 4S out of the way and replace it with iPhone 5 with the same capacity and price for 16GB, 32GB and 64GB models. It turns out Apple increases the price of iPhone for $500. Maybe Apple wants to get more money. Or maybe the components constituting the iPhone 5 are more expensive.

That's a bummer. I want to know what the unlocked price of the 5 in the US will be... 4S was $649/$749/$849 so if those don't go up (like the rest of world has) I will be a bit :( haha.

Based on the 4S unlocked in the US now being priced at $549 I'd assume the 5 will be 649/749/849.

Ah, kind of a bummer then that they might have kept prices the same over there and increased them else where.

Yeah, besides the US the prices seem to have gone up or stay higher, even for the 4S and the 4 (replacing the 4 and 3GS price points). All while other manufacturers are actually slowly lowering their non-subsidized prices.
