Hey guys,
I just bought a 32 gig Iphone 5 running ios 6. I noticed after the first day when I was on a call the screen light wouldnt go off and sometimes I'd activate speaker phone or mute the call when the phone would touch my cheek. The proximity sensor does not seem to be working at all. I do not have any screen protector or case around the phone thats blocking the sensor and I've reset the phone. Auto brightness isnt working either, it stays where I set it regardless of how dark or bright the room is. Siri wont work with the raise to speak option either. I also downloaded another app ..its a flashlight that turns off when you flip the phone upside down. But the torch light doesnt go off even if the phone is upside down or i cover the sensor with my finger.

Anybody else facing this problem? is this likely to be software or hardware?

update: I just did a restore via itunes. proximity sensor still wont work although the brightness sensor started working. I shine a light at it and I see the slider move up and increase brightness. Whats up with the proximity sensor?

My proximity sensor doesn't work when I raise the phone to talk or attempt to use the siri raise to talk feature, however I have an alarm clock app that uses the sensor to turn the screen off when I turn the phone over screen down at night and it works just fine. Which leads me to believe it's an issue with ios6, however I haven't really felt like doing a restore to test that theory. I just can't see how it's a hardware issue if it works in one app, but not with others.

Edit: Oh and the proximity sensor works for activating voice nav in Waze. But still will not work when talking on the phone or activating siri.
