Got an iPhone 5 which is 51 days out of warranty. It developed a common failure - a purple spot/smudge on all pics at the same spot. According to my research, this is a common problem. A dust particle inside the CCD. No way of fixing it. People got replacement from Apple under warranty, but I'm now out of warranty.

I saw many web sites / iFixit / amazon / eBay all have replacement rear cameras selling for 15-25$. Some say "OEM" but one can see they're not (the markings aren't the same as the ones on iFixit teardown pics).

So, has anyone replaced the rear camera in their iPhone 5 and done any sort of quality comparisons between the "OEM" and the new one? Is the color the same? low light level shooting, focus, etc? How does one know they're getting a quality product? (Apple unfortunately does not sell parts for their iPhones).
