I Wish I Knew
Hi all. Today Apple replaced my iPhone 5 and it has 6.1.4 on it. My question is....can i upgrade to 7.0.4/7.0.6 or do i have to jump straight to 7.1?

You're only choice now is to stay on 6.1.4 or upgrade to 7.1. You cannot update to anything in between as Apple is no longer signing those firmware versions.

Bummer. I thought id at least have a couple of days after 7.1 before they stopped signing 7.0.6.

If you stick with iOS 6 you do so at your own risk....read about the SSL...it's a bad one.

There are many apps now that require iOS 7 or later, so there could be problems down the road if you stay on 6.1.4. It'll install an old version of the app, but you won't get the latest features. Also, the SSL bug.

7 had a mile wide security gap that easily could have been exploited by ISP's, eavesdroppers including local & foreign govts, etc. it was plugged by 7.06 but how will we ever know who had access to our data?
