My iPhone 5 was recently dunked in water which I wasn't aware at the time until my brother told me hours after. The screen and battery were acting fritzie before he told me but I just thought it was the old battery decaying. He said he dropped in the water but then picked up quickly but he said it was in their at least 5 seconds. I put it in the rice today and gonna continue for 48 hours. If the rice method doesn't work, can I get a replacement via AppleCare+ and how would they replace cause the iPhone 5 got discontinued?

If you have AppleCare+, it will take one of your two replacements, and will be a $49 fee. They still stock iPhone 5 for this reason, so they will replace it with the same phone.

Its now $79 if you just got the iPhone 5 or if its was under the older coverage $49. Unknown date of the new amount. Good luck
