I'm contemplating returning my iPhone 5 to the Apple store under it's 30-day return policy. I confirmed with AT&T customer care that the Apple Store performs a contract reversal and if I choose I can re-activate my iPhone 4 and return to month-to-month service (since I was in month-to-month status prior to activating the iPhone 5).

Curious to know this:

- If I choose to port my number to Verizon and leave AT&T, will the contact reversal prevent me from having to pay an ETF to AT&T?

Has anyone else returned an iPhone 5 to Apple and had a successful contract reversal?

Thanks=

You will have to stay with AT&T for a week or so for the reversal to go through and your status to go back to out of contract... then you can move to another carrier without a penalty.
