Nope. iPad 3 was left on for five+ hours (smart cover failed to lock screen and iPad became hella hot) in my backpack with no problems.

Should be similar with the iPhone 5.

Seeing as the iPhone 5 has an LCD display, burn in would be highly unlikely.
