So I had a four-year-old iPhone 4 up at school where the signal blows goats. Used it with wifi always on, could easily go two days on a charge. My iPhone 5 with a new battery was lucky to see a full day of charge.

Came home where the signal is always strong, and my iPhone 5 suddenly crushes my 4 battery. At this rate, I'll have three days before a charge. The 4 was always worth about two days.

I would guess that low signal puts a higher drain on LTE systems than 3G, since my 4 would only have to switch between 3G and E, but my 5 hunts for LTE, 4G, 3G and E.

Thoughts?

The signal reception and battery life on my i5 was pants.
I frequently had no signal, or one dot, and 3G was almost non-existant. With my 6+ in the exact same areas and on the same network, I never drop below 2 dots and always have a 4G signal.

The i5 was still a good phone though...on WiFi! ☺️

Was your 5 not LTE?
