Just wondering if there was a correlation between iPhone batch serial number and quality issues.

I'll start. Mine is F2LXXXXXXXXX (Black 32GB) and was flawless out of the box when I bought it yesterday.

I also know Sharp and LG are making the screens. Is there any way to correlate the screen manufacturer in the serial? I think most of the panels have been similar so far in terms of tint and quality?

My DNPxxxxxxxxx 32GB White AT&T iPhone is flawless. The F17xxxxxxxxx 32GB White AT&T iPhone 5 that it replaced was also flawless, except that I damaged the screen and Apple was nice enough to replace it.

So, looks like there are DNP serial numbers and F1 & F2 serial numbers. Those must be the two factories. Keep it comin guys. Curious to see more differences between the two.

I believe there is a 50 page iPhone 5 serial # thread already

Really!

Heck that's no fun :)

My iPhone 5? I just don't care. The thrill is gone after having to exchange it due to questionable quality control which allowed Apple to ship a heavily scratched phone. Second one I got was better but still had other issues. I'll see what iPhone 6 brings. Already the blogosphere is speculating that Apple will curtail iPhone 5 production early since it's become public relations nightmare.

Proof positive that this is indeed a crappy phone.

Its good to see that Apple has the guts to face it instead of hiding as they are often wont to do. This fact in and of itself is telling & refreshing.

Is this the same blogosphere that claimed Apple would curtail iPhone 4 production?

I'm really not following how this is proof positive of anything.

All that proves is that the blogosphere doesn't know jack, and anyone who believes them knows even less.

Came with a few (meaning more then 1) scratch around the rim and on the band... is a little sluggish and battery isn't as good as my first iphone 5
