Hi, I bought an iPhone 5 from here in Bangkok yesterday .
Checked its serial number before buying and everything is fine .

Now when I checked whatismyresolution.com , instead of 640x1136 , it shows 320x568 . Why is that ??

Yea same for me too don't know why

Retina is 2x so if you multiple both numbers by two its 1136x640. i think websites read retina devices by their resolution divided by two. Dunno why this is. Additionally my ipad 3 retina shows 768x1024

This is done for compatibility reasons, otherwise websites that were designed for "non-retina" iOS devices would not display correctly.

As an iOS dev, apple has you design your apps at 320x568. The extra pixels are used to make the text and images look sharper. Otherwise, everything would be smaller on a retina display and not sharper.
