Hey Guys!

I really want to use my White iPhone 5 without a case and was wondering, is it easy for the sides to scratch easily? Because I already have a back and front shield, I'm just worried about the sides. Also I would not like to get protection on the sides. Just want to know if it can get scratched easily?

Thanks,

The very thin, shiny silver borders going around the white iPhone 5 get scratched very easily, EVEN with a case. I have been OCD about looking after my iPhone, it's had a good quality silicon case on it since I bought it about a week ago, yet the silver border has still managed to receive some small scratches and chips. My advice: don't worry too much, just take care of it but enjoy it aswell.

Yeah, I know the shiny bit can scratch but I was wondering if the actual sides can? From normal use?

i've only had mine out of the case twice, beautiful phone. sucks so bad, wish I didn't need a stupid case. Can't wait for the honeymoon period to be over

Yeah same! I really would not like to use a cash with mine! I already have protection for the back and front! Just an worried about sides!

I have a white iPhone 5,been over 10 days, completely naked, not a scratch anywhere ,though am careful with my devices,I didn't had a single scratch on my 4S in my 8 months of usage without any protector or case.

If you have a white iPhone 5 you should buy the Spigen Ultra Thin Air soft clear case. Very thin and see through. Looks great with the white iPhone 5. You can fin pics of it in the accessories forum.

I have had mine naked since release day and I don't have any scratches, I use a film on front and back only. White iPhone.

What case did you use? I am OCDing over a scratch on the chamfered edge. I found a particle of something right near the scratch and I am wondering if that caused it, or it came out of the factory like that (because there are similar scratches around the phone that I KNOW were from the factory)

Oh that's cool! So you think I should go naked? ;)

If you want to go naked, just take off all your clothes. :p

But on a more serious note, if you're worried about the sides and want to protect them, I recommend you go to "sticker boy.net" (without the space) and get one of their extreme fit side wraps for your iPhone 5. I'd go with the metal series and match the color of the sticker to your phone. I'm currently doing this with my Slate iPhone 5 and it couldn't look any better. The stickers match the color of my iPhone and it's protected and still looks beautiful. So far, I haven't gotten any scratches from the sides.

Most hard cases are not finished on the inside so putting the case on and off scratches the iphone. As for the soft cases or hard cases that have a soft inside, you have a better chance.
I saw someone the other day with a body skin on his and the phone looked foggy and it didn't seem to be protective from a fall.

£4 bumper case from flea bay fitted on from purchase date of 13th of October with no issues as of to date.

I remove it once a week to clean it over with a micro fibre cloth.

Happy days.
