Anyone know if the internal moisture indicators in the iPhone 5 could be triggered while the one in the SIM card slot is white?

I guess what I'm wondering is if the internal ones are more sensitive than the one in the SIM card slot

well, they look the same....so i suppose they are made out of the same material. ie. the sensitivity is likely the same.

usually, if both indicators in the headphone jack an SIM slot are white, the internal one should be fine. however, there is no 100% guarantee.

My moms iPhone 5 never got dropped in water or contacted water but the sensor in the headphone jack was red, when her power button stopped working we took it to the apple store and genius told us the phone was water damaged, my mom told him the phone never saw water so he took the phone into the back, came back 5 minutes later and said none of the other water sensors were tripped so he did replace the phone under warranty.

Strange. The iPhone 5 doesn't have a water sensor in the headphone jack like previous models. Odd story.
