iPhone 5 sound stopped working and now turning itself off

Started out that the sound wasn't working this morning (tried everything) and now the phone is turning itself off. I'm going to take it to Apple this weekend but does anyone have an idea what could be causing this in the meantime?

I've tried searching but not had any results with the same problem.

did you find a fix for your problem?
because the same thing is happening to my phone.
Every time the phone makes a sound it automatically shuts itself down...
