HI....

so i have iphone 5 , running on IOS 7 and jailbroken...

It was working fine.. until 2days ago, the battery life time decreased A LOT... in 2hrs after taking it of the charger ( which was on through out the night ) the battery went to 21 %, and died out after 5 hrs.

I lost 5 % 10 min after i took it off the charger.

I turned off wifi and everything else... even made the brightness to the minimum, tried everything... still it is crap !!

any ideas ???? it is a pain in the A**:mad::mad::mad::mad:

It's likely to do with the jailbreak tweaks you've installed.

There you go :) thanks people !!!

I immediately scrolled down to see if you have winterboard installed. That tweak does drain you battery. Can't say for others. Just know that WB does.

Don't suspect WinterBoard itself.
It runs on all my devices without noticable battery drain.

If the battery drain is WinterBoard related at all then more likely due to one of your numerous themes.

Guess what, I had the same problem as you, battery just would not last a single day, thus I went to the store (not Apple Store) and told them about it, they've tested it and found a problem and gave me a new device.

It had nothing to do with jailbreak. iPhone 5 is subject to a faulty charging module or just damaged battery.

You could try these options:

1) Restore your device and set up it as new.
2) If you have warranty, go to the store where you bought your device and tell them about your problem.

Try it as new, use it for a day, if that does not help.. You know what to do.

Ok so I deleted 4 themes now.
But what I can't understand is that I didn't add any themes lately ... All this crap happened out of a sudden

It is 60% now after 2 hrs of fully charge and barely 30 min usage !!

you will have to remove one by one the tweaks and see which one is the culprit

install "top" from cydia
ssh to your phone (dont forget to su root)
then run top -u
this will list processes in desc order taking up the most CPU usage.
to exit top hit Q

let us know what you find.

if it turns out backboardd is the main culprit run this command to see what tweaks are hooked into backboard

grep backboardd /Library/MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries/*.plist

*Note - you may need to install grep

as recommended in a different forum, i tried to get battery info using ibackup bot and this what i got :

CycleCount: 421
DesignCapacity: 1430
FullChargeCapacity: 1322
Status: Success

BatteryCurrentCapacity: 99
BatteryIsCharging: true
ExternalChargeCapable: true
ExternalConnected: true
FullyCharged: false
GasGaugeCapability: true

and they said that the numbers look OK ... so i cant seems to find where is the leak from !

Assuming those statistics are true, that's good battery life after 4XX cycles

Do you happen to have GPS enabled in the background?

No mate.. turned everything off !!!

the battery just dies on me. after having it 100 % charged and 6 hrs of standby

Its a pain in the backside.

How do I do the grep? I copy and paste your command and it's not doing anything. I'm already logged into root

The same thing happened to my Iphone 5. Battery would just drain without me even using it.

My cycle count is in the 600 range tho. I restored it to factory settings with no jailbreak. Still the same.

It's the battery. Not the tweaks

I had problems with battery, got my iPhone 5 replaced and...

Make a genius bar appointment, take the phone to Apple and have them run tests.

Take it to warranty. I do the same yesterday and they replace my iphone. And the battery, WOW!! So isnt because JB at all (i have jb)

Not wanting to produce clutter with my own thread, I guess I'll just tack this on here and hope someone sees it.

Has anyone experienced a similar issue or possibly knows why the command "itunesstore" is constantly ramping my CPU usage up to 100%. Obviously my battery life is absolutely atrocious, and I can't seem to kill it, nor do I have any idea as to why this is happening.
