iPhone 5 & the XM Skydock

With the rumors of a new pin connection for the iphone 5, does anyone think the XM skydock sold enough to be updated. I'm trying to decide to wait for the 5, or just get an iphone 4s now.
 
Why not use the Lightning adapter? As I've been using a SendStation's Dock Extender with my SkyDock for quite awhile.
