iPhone 5 to iPhone 5s with refurbishing?

I've a broken iPhone 5, camera is acting weird with purple stripes, so I'm going to call Apple for a new iPhone.

I did this before on two more, and with a creditcard reservation I always get my new iPhone first, and send back the broken one.

Now is my question, are there people who upgraded there phone before. I don't want a i5 anymore, it breaks really fast, but can I say: "Listen, the 5C is the same as the 5, is € 599,-, for € 100,- and the i5, give me the iPhone 5S"

When you go in for a replacement phone they won't even give you a different color iP5, let alone upgrading you to a newer model.

You have an iPhone 5, you're are going to get a refurbished iPhone 5.
Same memory size, same color.

Why wouldn't a 5s break just as easily? It's the same design with upgraded specs.

Maybe you need a better case to go with your item for item replacement ip5?

It took a lot of bitching for my son to get a new iPhone 5S replacement for his broken iPhone 5.
Don't even ask how many people I had to talk to at Apple.
But in the end they sent a iPhone 5C loaner until they got another Space Gray one in because they where out of stock at the time.
In the end they made it right and I am still happy with Apple but I bet it helped I buy a lot of their products for HOME and for the School I work at LOL.
