iPhone 5 turned off randomly with little drop

Hello everyone.

My dad have an iPhone 5 which perform admirably everyday. Lately, it's turning off randomly. He turned it on, drop it on the table (around 2cm), and it turned off.

We tried to drop it again, and sure enough: every test has 100% success rate of turning off the phone—even with the smallest bump.

Anybody experiencing this?

I can assure you it is not normal. By your description it seems there is something lose on the main board. Probably the contact from the battery itself. If you still have waranty, I suggest to go back to the store with it.

Agreed. You have a hardware issue.

I would recommend stop dropping test, take it to repair.
This remind me of in order to check suspension issue on the car, one would drive their car repeatedly through high speed bump.
