Hi guys, I'm bought an AT&T iPhone on contract a few weeks ago and I found out that I have to go overseas in December. Of course AT&T won't unlock it for me. However, I keep on seeing Craigslist and eBay ads advertising iPhone factory unlock services in the range of $20 to $50. They are extremely vague on how they are accomplishing the unlock, something about they have ways to whitelist my imei on Apple servers. Anyone here ever use one of those Craigslist/eBay unlock services?

Use unlock_fusion on eBay. I bought an unlock for my iPhone 5 on Friday and it was processed the same day. Once I restored I received the message from iTunes letting me know my iPhone was unlocked, popped in my T-Mobile SIM and been running smooth ever since. Go for the eBay one, it's like five bucks and will allow you to use your phone overseas. :)

another vote (4 votes actually) for unlock_fusion.
unlocked 3 iphone 5's and a iphone4 using them, super quick.

btw, the easiest way to get the "congrats your phone is now unlocked msg", is to just wipe the phone (restoring to factory setting) while connected to itunes, once it reboots you will get the msg in itunes.
the backup restore process in the instruction didn't get me the message after several tries.
