iPhone 5 while still under contract?

I bought a new iPhone 4 with a 2 year contract about 5 months ago. Obviously I will still be under contract when the iPhone 5 comes out. Will they be selling the iPhone 5 without a contract on the day of the release? I know you can buy an iPhone 4 for $599/699 without extending your contract today, but was that deal available on release date? Thanks for your help in advance!
