Is this even possible? Notice this is on 3G. This is from a friend's iPhone 5.

Whilst the test results at the bottom suggest 3G, the network indication in the top left suggest that the connection is in fact 4G LTE.

I would suspect the testmyiphone site, perhaps its not aware of 4G and simply displays 3G or WIFI.
 
Yea I think that website/app doesn't register 4G cause 3G isn't capable of that much speed.

Hmmm. Thanks for setting me straight; I overlooked the indicator at the top. So, this is a bitrate one could reasonably expect from 4G LTE?

It's 4G thrust me. There's no way a 3G connection can have more than 24mb/s. Yours has 39.... 4G LTE yup :)
