Not even the iPhone X has 10 hours battery.
I don’t understand how a phone from 2012 with less efficient processor has more battery life than all the last 5 models of iPhone.
Even with low power mode.

The biggest battery killer is generally the screen (unless some app is bad and keeps your CPU running high), and the screen has got bigger since the 5s . They have also been added more sensors all which drain power.

If you compared an iPhone 5 to an iPhone SE you can really see how much effect newer more efficient processors and better code have as the screen size is the same.

It is a long time ago, but I don't seem to remember getting anywhere near that with my iPhone 5 on iOS 6. In fact I remember the battery life being not so great at all, especially with LTE factored in. The X seems to have the best battery life I've ever had out of an iPhone (Came from a 7 Plus so not sure about the 8/8+)...

Some people are even getting 12 hours with the X.

My battery life is awesome so I have no complaints. I’m at 5 and a half hours with 68% remaining.

My 8 plus lasts about 8-9 hours with heavy usage. I highly doubt an iPhone 5 used to last 10 hours, unless you were just listening to music most of the time.

iphone 5 with iOS 6 easily lasted 10 hours while the iPhone X barely last 7/8 hours and that’s with OLED screen and advance CPU and bigger battery?????
Perform better or simply last longer?

That's akin to asking why does a leaf blower that works at 25 MPH can work for 30 minutes on battery and clean up a small yard, while one that works at 100 MPH lasts 15 minutes and clean up a large yard.

Not sure what your situation is OP. My X easily outlasts my 6 Plus and 6s Plus with same usage.

The X battery is about on par with a 8 imo, not impressed at all really, no way it's as good as a plus.
Wireless charging helps.

My X probably sits at about 80% left after 12 hours of use so it is a lot longer than 10 hours

12 hours since unplugging maybe. No way is that legit usage. Most iphones would be dead in less than 12 hours of usage, assuming it wasn't all music played in the background.

I miss the iPhone 5 / iOS 6 days in terms of battery life, i regularly used to hit 9 hours usage, sometimes 10. Never got close to that with my iPhone X even with low power mode. I could go 2 days with mild usage on the 5. But with the X its max 1.5 days.

True, compare the same form factor and everything with better internals to see the improvement. :)
