iPhone 5 worse than 4S at picking up wireless signals?

We are on vacation and my wife is able to pick up the weak wireless here at the condo on her 4S, and my 5 can't even find it.

Is that happening to other 5 owners?

Wifi on the i5 sucks.
I been using 3G and LTE mostly since its more reliable.
