I was wondering how they'll continue the iPhone naming scheme now that the iPhone 5C is on the market. It's clear for this time, but how about next time?

iPhone 6
iPhone 6C

And after that?

iPhone 6S
iPhone 6C++ ?! :D

Or maybe they expect the 5C to sell so badly for that ridicolous price that it will be discontinued anyways...

I need to search the forum & see if anyone asked the same question when the 3GS came out. I'm sure there were a few "What will Apple do now that they are locked into this 'S' thing?!" posts.

No doubt they'll come up with a solution. I just wanted to make a point that we soon might see a new naming scheme, that's all.

5C
6C
6CS
7C
7CS

Or maybe they leave the C on a 2 year lifecycle while upgrading the flagship every year.

5S + 5C
6 + 6C
6S + 6C (with price drop)
7 + 7C
7S + 7C (with price drop)

"6S" doesn't have the same ring, or ease of speech, as 4S and 5S.

I'm guessing they are going to change the name and won't follow this.

I just hope it's not "newiPhone" like the "newIpad"

Then it's good there was never a "newIpad".

We have an "iPad" with no numbers or designation for the last two generations.

iPad, iPad 2, iPad, iPad
