iphone 5c speaker problem

Whenever I make or receive calls the recipient complains they can barely hear me - is this my phone problem?

Wait, have you turned on your volume button? Then check if they can hear you by an earpiece, if it works well when you're playing music without using an earpiece. If all yes, looks like microphone is the culprit.
