Hello guys,

my friend is just in USA and asked for me how much would 16gb iPhone 5S unlocked cost in the 5th Ave store (The cube) and apparently they told him $550 pre-tax. To me it seems a bit low as the website says $650 pre-tax.
Could it be because its locked or something that we are missing? Cause if its really $550 then he will buy it for me and it will be my xmas present from my family. Could you please help me out as I don't want to make a mistake and then not be able to return it from Europe.

Thank you very much

I asked him to go there again and double check as the price seems too good to be true. It sounds more like a price of the iPad Air :)
I hope he was right because i would really love to get a phone for that price :)

Make sure your friend understands that he does NOT want a Sprint iPhone!

The Sprint models are locked, even at full price, no matter what the Apple geniuses might say.

Be aware that the US models are all missing LTE Band 7, which a lot of EU carriers use. You'll have a lot of coverage holes with no LTE signal where the EU model iPhones would be able to get it.
