iPhone 5s and Lightning to SD Card Reader Problems

I tried using the lightning to SD card cable with my iPhone 5s but got an error message saying it wasn't compatible. I tried it with several of my friends iPhone 5s' and it didn't work for them either.

Went to a retail store, swapped it out for a new one, and it still doesn't work. Same error message.

Has anyone gotten this to work?

I think it is iPad only. The 30 Pin one never worked on my iPhone 4S but on my iPad 2.

Edit: Nevermind.. Apple.com says it works with iPhone 5C/5S. Maybe set up an appointment at the Genius Bar..?

Appears it has. It must have been an oversight on Apple's part.

Or perhaps it was a sign of things to come? Maybe a future update will support it!
