Iphone 5s Automatically entering DFU mode by itself

So I bought an iphone 5s from a close friend of mine he said after updating the phone it came with a problem for example
It started automatically restarting at first buh he changed the battery I think now it automatically enters DFU mode if left on standby for a random time sometimes it
I thought it would b a battery problem but see if it was a hardware problem why would it go into DFU mod isn't that a software thing ?
Plz help
