We already know that LTE use less battery than 3G while browsing (10 vs 8 hours) But what about standby? I would like to know if i'm better off using LTE instead of 3G.

LTE kills my battery 1% every 2-3 minutes of use. Standy also kills battery faster. This will be the norm if 4G coverage not as good as 3G

Do a test. Leave it on LTE all night, with wifi off, and then do 3G the next night, and compare overnight drain. I bet the difference would be negligible.
