After all the excitement and waiting over a month to get it I am sending my 5S back to Apple tomorrow. Was working great first 2 weeks, then touch id started playing up... Just don't understand, sometimes it works, sometimes not. Hopefully get it back or a new one asap, anyone know how long they take to repair it? Yeah I called and they said they would ship a box to return it on Friday and received it Saturday. Anybody else experiencing this?

Did you puts its lotion on its skin?:p

A lot of people Are reporting that dry skin from cold dry weather is causing issues as the seasons change in most of the nation.

Makes senses. I raked leaves outside for about 4 hours the other day in 45 degree weather and none of my fingers worked afterwards.

Yea I use to get the dry hands issue but now I have it sync to my nose print. Been working flawlessly.

Got an email from Apple this morning and they have shipped the original product back. I cleaned it, got other people to try and out and the touch id did not work at ALL. Quite angry.

The problem with any kind of biometric fingerprint scanner is that the quality of your print is not static. What gets read one day could look totally different the next day and the equipment could be working just fine.
