If that is a legit image of the 5s, i really hope that ring around the home button/fingerprint scanner is a notification LED. I can dream can't I? I do find it odd though that the iPhone 5 boxes were very nice and color coded and that they would go back to the plain jane white boxes for all phones.
That's my main reason for being skeptical. For the black phones, I feel like they'll still have the black box. But I'm also hoping for this to be true because I'll take the boring box if it means that new home button.
Now that would make me seriously consider returning to iPhone. The fingerprint scanner however, doesn't interest me.
But it would match Apple's background choice from the 5C.
So, black iPhone 5S black background. And the background will have this little bubble pattern and not just plain black.
I just would think since they just changed boxes for the iPhone 5 to the nice color matching for black/white that they wouldn't revert to the old way. Who knows. I really hope they have some cool surprises in next weeks event and its not just a recap of how awesome iOS 7 is.
I know it doesn't mean much as they weren't colour coded, but the 4 to 4S went from black to white boxes.

I know, but I thought the 5C would have colour coded backgrounds to make them seem more fun and iPod-like, whereas the 5S would stick with the default iOS 7 background.

When I say box, I was really just talking about the front, but yes, the 4 were white boxes technically.
3G and 3GS boxes were colour coded. Black for black phones and white for white ones.
I think it's a fake, too. Apart from the incredibly low quality of those images, I would expect some reference to an iOS 7 background on the higher end device's box. Matched wallpaper would be reserved to the 5C.
the safari icon again looks a tad different IMO, like they'd actually remove the red colour from the compass needle
I think it's fake as well. Apple doesn't show the buttons sticking out like that in any of their images. They only show perfect rectangles or strait lines with no interruption. If the a button sticks out, it's shown at an angle where it doesn't protrude from the side.
Low quality generally = REAL.....lol
It could be fake or real, really rumor evidence for both. Only 4 more days until we find out!
Interesting you mention that, as someone else spotted it in the leaked 5C packaging. The thread's on the iOS 7 forum somewhere I think.
Icon arrangement matches the leaked 5C units from the past few days. Home button matches up with the invitation image of the grey circle.
So... quite possibly real, in my opinion.
Shame if it is real. Wishful thinking, I know, but I really was hoping for a very modest (4.3"/@300 ppi) bump in display size this year.

Now I really hope there is an LED ring for notifications around the home button that would be perfect....especially if it had different colors, but im fine with just a ghost white illumination. I doubt they'd do this I wouldnt be so lucky
