So, just finishing up watching the keynote after the fact. You have to physically be able to use the new home button, so as to have those security features. Well... Otterbox cases are amazing (as are many other full body protection cases), but this is going to add another hole, and seeing as how the sapphire crystal CANNOT get scratched, I'd say it's almost a waste... I'd want to put some kind of extra protection on just the button, but if it makes the imaging system not work then why bother?

Your thoughts? Has the finger print reader made full iPhone protection unattainable?

9 on the Mohs scale, IIRC, and that means that there are harder materials so it can get scratched.

Not everyone is going to use the fingerprint reader. You have to decide which is a priority for you.

I was referring to the 5S in general. I looked up the new Otterbox Defender and they've lowered the entire screen area. It looks safe enough. I retract my statement.
