The Verizon store I visited had no gold or white iPhones and only a couple (3 or so) 64gb phones.

The Apple Store my wife was at (charleston sc) apparently had limited quantities if any white phones. My wife was 30th in line and couldn't get the white iPhone. 64gb seemed to be limited but better than verizon. Unsure if gold quantities if any.

The Apple store only had only 1 gold phone. A lady in line gave away her $1000 Gucci handbag to score the phone. The way the employees were talking to each other it seemed the store only had 100 iPhones.

No big surprise THAT lady wanted the gold color......

Probably fake. I highly doubt the person that accepted it could have known any better, especially in the heat of the moment. So in the end, she probably got the better end of the deal.

EDIT: Also, a real Gucci handbag (unless it was fairly old) would probably cost more than $1000.

Only people in an Apple line on launch day would believe any woman gave away real Gucci for a smartphone.

You can believe me or not, I know it's the internet. However, it did happen.

don't gucci purses usually cost MORE than $1000? lol it was probably fake tbh.

I wouldn't know! Never had the money nor opportunity to buy one. That's what the lady said it was worth. Now, if she was pulling the other lady's leg...well she scammed her good!

EDIT: Just googled gucci bags and they go for $600-$1300 easy. Not worth a gold iPhone in my opinion.

Link to the news piece about the woman who traded her bag.

Warning. She's a loon.
