Hey guys,
So I purchased an iPhone 5s in September 2013, right when it came out, through my carrier. I live in Germany which means here you have two years of warranty, regardless of Apples own warranty. Now, after about a year of having my phone I noticed that when talking on the phone I had huge problems understanding what people said to me on the phone. I compared it with another iPhone 5s and found out that my device must be broken. Went to Apple and they gave me a new devices right away.
So, about a year later, now, I notice the same problem is coming back. I don't know, anybody else having that problem with an iPhone 5s? Anyway: Noticed it and went to Apple right away. This time the guy told me my iPhone was not under warranty anymore and the repair would cost me around 60€. I didn't do it and he told me I should contact my carrier (Vodafone) to get it fixed, since the 2 year warranty thing only applies to the place where you bought the device, not the manufacturer.
Now I contacted Vodafone and the lady I spoke to told me it was no problem to repair my device, I would get contacted by somebody in a couple of days, my phone would be picked up and I would get a new one right that moment. They would just switch them out. Couple of days later somebody from Vodafone called me to tell me that they would NOT repair it unless I somehow manage to make it clear that I DID NOT damage the phone, which I didn't.
Doing that would involve a professional to look at my phone which would cost money which is just ********. I was getting quite angry on the phone at the Vodafone lady who just refused to help me out, so I ended the call.
Now I am here with a Phone made by Apple which is not even 2 years old and I can't use it for TALKING ON THE PHONE because I cannot hardly hear anything.
Question is: What would you do? I thought about going to Apple again and telling them the whole story. Maybe somebody there will be nice. I have never experienced that kind of costumer service at Apple before. I am truly disappointed.
Thanks!
