I'll try to explain what's up..I think it's a simple fix...
My father just got an iPhone 5s with iOs 8.4. As did I, though mine has 8.3, despite coming from the same store. The focus is on him though (and he's in a different state so I've been doing just what distance learning I can on this problem).
IF in contacts, I click on the Message "speech balloon" next to his phone number (1 on pic), it sends a message to his iPhone...only.
IF in contacts, I click on the Message "speech balloon" next to his e-mail address/apple id (2 on pic), it sends a message to his macbook & ipad...but not the iPhone.
On MY iPhone, it shows up as two separate conversations, but I see both of them in the SAME conversation in Messages on my iMac. Messages on my iMac ONLY (seems to) send to his mac/ipad.

EITHER way he sends, clicking on the bubble next to phone OR email sends to all of my devices/macs.
Same if anyone messages me.
The settings he set on his phone look like mine, as far as I can tell..(see pics--those are his screen shots).

Anyone have any ideas on how to get things combined?
