iPhone 5s LTE goes in and out

I just got my (AT&T) iPhone 5s and it seems when everytime I lock the phone the LTE or any data connection is immediately lost and anything that was using data (iMessage or Mail), doesn't work. When I unlock the phone the LTE comes back in, but sometimes is lost again. Any suggestions?
